Custom Baseball Caps

The baseball cap evolved in tandem with the sport of baseball. In matches, most players defending a team wear baseball caps, leading many fans to also wear caps representing their favorite teams. As the trend gained popularity, it expanded beyond baseball team caps, and various styles and brands of baseball caps became popular worldwide.

Initially, baseball caps were not widely accepted in people's daily lives and were considered exclusive to athletes. In 1839, the first-ever baseball game was held in Cooperstown, New York. Professional baseball players emerged in the United States around 1860. In 1871, the National Association of Professional Base Ball Players was established in the U.S., later renamed the National League in 1876. Another national professional baseball organization, the American Association, was founded in 1881, which later became the American League. The first championship series between these two organizations, known as the "World Series," took place in 1884. In 1910, President William Howard Taft officially designated baseball as the national sport of the United States. As a result, baseball caps became popular among various baseball teams. Initially worn to shield players from the sun, players began wearing baseball caps in all weather conditions during games. Baseball was introduced to Japan in 1873, and professional baseball teams were founded in 1934, introducing baseball caps to Japan. After World War II, baseball rapidly spread across European countries. Baseball is now played in over 100 countries and regions across the five continents, and baseball caps have become a global phenomenon. However, during that time, baseball caps were primarily associated with baseball players and were not considered everyday items; instead, they became symbolic decorations for baseball athletes.

Baseball caps serve various purposes, such as sun protection, decoration, warmth, and protection, resulting in a wide variety of styles and considerations when choosing one.

Facial shapes, including square, round, and pointed, influence the choice of cap style. For instance, individuals with round faces should avoid round-topped caps, as they may make the face appear larger. People with pointed faces may benefit from wearing caps with brims, enhancing the appearance of a slimmer face. Therefore, round-topped caps are more suitable.

For individuals of different heights, the size of the baseball cap should be proportionate. Taller individuals should opt for larger caps to avoid a top-heavy appearance, while shorter individuals should choose smaller caps. High women are advised against wearing tall baseball caps, as it may give the illusion of additional height. Shorter women should avoid wearing flat-topped wide-brimmed baseball caps, as it may make them appear even shorter.

Similar to dressing, wearing a baseball cap should emphasize strengths and minimize weaknesses, ensuring both personal satisfaction and a pleasing appearance. The form and color of the cap should coordinate with clothing, scarves, gloves, and shoes. Women who wear glasses are advised against caps with intricate decorations on top and should avoid covering the forehead with the cap; the cap should be higher to showcase a carefree and elegant demeanor. The size of men's hats, indicated by a numerical size, corresponds to the head circumference in centimeters, making it convenient for purchasing. However, considering that some hats may shrink after washing, it is advisable to choose a slightly larger size during purchase. The general hat size for adult men is 55–56, children's hats range from 50 to 55, and infant hats are typically 42–46.

Functions of baseball caps include:

Sun Protection: Baseball players wear caps to shield their eyes from the sun during games.
Hair Restraint: Caps help prevent interference from long hair during games.
Warmth: Caps provide warmth for baseball players during winter or cold seasons.
Protection: Caps act as a barrier against small items, such as sand, during baseball games.
Decoration: With the evolution of baseball caps, the basic functional features mentioned above no longer meet the needs of modern individuals. Baseball caps have become increasingly fashionable and serve as decorative accessories.
Materials for baseball caps include elastic cotton for comfort and skin-friendliness, with strong moisture absorption properties. Sweatbands use elastic bands, Velcro, metal buckles, or adhesive buckles to adjust sizes for different individuals. The front lining often uses non-deformable Oxford fabric, and embroidery adds a delicate touch.

Handwashing is recommended, as most caps do not shrink. Wash with cold or lukewarm water around 30 degrees Celsius. Avoid using excessively hot water, as it may cause shrinking. Using soap is preferable to washing powder.
